Páskar og egg.

Ástæðan fyrir því að eggið er svona áberandi tákn um Páska hátíðina er held ég; að fyrst verpir fuglinn egginu en síðan fer hin raunverulega fæðing fram þegar fuglinn skríður úr egginu, þannig er útrásin úr egginu jafn vel mikilvægari, því fuglin er lokaður inni í egginu áður en að raunverulega fæðingin fer fram og getur eftir endur fæðinguna skilið hin raunverulega heim, er ekki lengur lokaðir inni í egginu, rétt eins og við þegar við fæðumst hinni andlegu fæðingu, eftir það sjáum við hvernig hlutirnirn raunverulega eru. Það eru mismunandi hugmyndir í gangi um hvernig þetta sé allt í pottin búið og verður það ekki rakið hér. Þannig eru margir listamenn sífelt að reyna að líkja eftir þessu ferli með listsköpun sinni held ég, þ.e.a.s. „Frelsinu í listinni“.  Hin síðari ár hef ég sífelt verið að hugsa mig sem ekki hluta af íslenskri myndlist, sem er fremur hátíðlegur frasi. Frekar lít ég á að listin sé einhverskonar hlið á mér sem lifir sjálfstæðu lífi,andlegu lífi. Þetta er samt ekki sambærilegt við endurfæðinguna, þegar andin tengist alheimsvitundini (Self-realization), þetta getur samt hjálpað okkur að opna hjartað sem er nauðsynlegur hluti af leiðinni tilþroska.

Easter and eggs.

The reason why the egg is such a prominent symbol of the Easter holiday is I think; that the bird first lays the egg but then the actual birth takes place when “the chick” crawls out of the egg, so the break out of the egg is just as important, because the bird is locked inside the egg before the actual birth takes place and can after the rebirth leave the real world , is no longer locked inside the egg, just as we are when we are born of the spiritual birth, after that we see how things really are. There are different ideas going on about how this is all and it will not be subject here. I think thus, many artists are constantly trying to imitate with their artistic creation, I think, i.e. “Artistic freedom”. I have constantly trying to be not as part of Icelandic art, which is a rather solemn phrase. Rather, I see art as a kind of side of me that lives an independent, spiritual life. However, this is not comparable to the spiritual rebirth, when the spirit is connected to the universal consciousness (Self-realization), it can still helpful for us to open the heart which is an essential part of the path of spiritual development.
