Dúkskurður.
Fyrir fjörutíu árum var ég að taka mín fyrstu skref í grafíkinni sem listformi, ég eins of flestir sem eru að byrja að prófa slíkt byrjaði ég á dúkskurði ég hef ekki notað þessa tækni mikið síðan en þetta er eins og að hjóla á reiðhjóli, gleymist ekki, mér var nýlega boðið að taka þátt í sýningu „Bréf frá íslandi“ sem fer eitthvað á flakk um heimin og mér fannst einhvernvegin að þetta væri tækifæri til að prófa hvernig dúkurin virkar, ég hef verið að nota ýmsa nýrri tækni í bland í grafíkinni en handverkið hefur alltaf verið í forgrunni hjá mér.
Lino cut.
About forty years ago I was taking my first steps in graphics as an art form, I like many artists who are trying this at first I started on lino cutting, I haven’t used this technique much since but this is someting you don’t forget , I was recently invited to take part in a show “Letters from Iceland” that travels the world with som other icelandic artist and I somehow felt that this was an opportunity to test how the lino works for me now, I have been using various new techniques in my graphics but the craft has always been in foreground with me.
Lino cutting is something you can call a real craft.
Always nice to see the first proof print.
